GENERAL FEATURES
1. UV Protective coating - Since the MR1308UABK is under the sun a lot of the times, the outside shell has a Ultra-Violet coating to protect it from the damaging effects that the sun offers. The PC board is also coated to have the protection that IT needs from the corrosion that humidity and salt can bring on over time. 2. Zero Current Draw Memory - A lot of us have had the battery die at one point or another. Sometimes we might just need to replace it. This can mess with all the systems that depend on being hooked up to a power source in order to be able to maintain some saved data. In this case, the MR1308UAB. It holds information such as the time/date, presets for your favorite radio stations and such. If you ever happen to be without a battery for a short period of time, you will not lose all of the information that you had previously saved. All thanks to this little helper. 3. Front AUX (Auxiliary) In - This input on the MR1308UAB that says “AUX” is an interface that allows the input of audio signals for MP3 players, headphones and portable music players. It is for AUDIO ONLY and not video. 4. Output Power: 50 Watts x 4 Channels - The MR1308UAB offers 4 channels that can be used to hook up 4 speakers. Typically though, it is a much better practice to have an amplifier running your system. 5. Playback - MP3 / WMA 6. USB Port
Bluetooth Audio Streaming
Bluetooth technology is a short-range radio technology that was developed to provide wireless audio and data transmission. Two Bluetooth-enabled devices (like a mobile phone and a car) can be paired so that they establish a communication link when they come within range of each other. Depending on the device, the range can be anywhere from 3 to 300 feet. The MR1308UAB supports A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile). A2DP is a Bluetooth profile that allows for the wireless transmission of stereo audio from an A2DP source (typically a phone or computer) to an A2DP receiver (a set of Bluetooth headphones or stereo system).
Compatible With Audio Output of iPod / iPhone, Smartphones and MP3 Players
A great feature that comes in really handy is that little hole that says “AUX”. What this means is that if you can connect a device that has an Auxiliary output, such as your iPhone/iPod, smartphone and MP3 players straight into the Auxiliary input of your head unit. So basically a cable that has (2) 3.5mm audio (male) plugs. Important: Please beware that this feature is not the same as the “Full iPod Control”. This feature will only allow you to control your music by clicking on the designated buttons via the face or front side of your unit.
Bluetooth Hands-Free
There is flip side to the Bluetooth Audio Streaming mentioned above. With this function you are able to answer you phone with just one press of a button. When the call ends you can either hang up first by pressing just one button again or do nothing at all as long as the person you were talking to hangs up first. Just keep on driving without any distractions.

Voice Coil – Aluminum
One of the most abundant elements on earth, Aluminum is remarkable for its low density and for its ability to resist corrosion. It is nonmagnetic (does not have any magnetic properties) and does not easily ignite. This solid material has the ability to perform under stress in both high tension and high compression environments. Aluminum is relatively soft making one of the more ideal materials to use in voice coils.
Cone – Poly Injection
A substance called "Polyurethane" and is categorized as a "Polymer". It is a resilient, flexible and durable manufactured material that can take the place of paint, cotton, rubber, metal or wood in thousands of applications across virtually all fields. It can be hard like fiberglass, squishy like upholstery foam, protective like varnish, bouncy like rubber or sticky like glue. In the specific case of our cones, this material allows for maximum flexibility that produces great sounding speakers lasting you a long, long time.
Surround – Rubber
Rubber is a synthetic (man made) rubber and is valued for its chemical inertness, impermeability to air and the ability to endure or resist exposure to the many types of weather fronts. Rubber has many different applications. Anywhere from Sports equipment to automotive parts, the medical industry and more. We use them for the Surrounds that connect the cone to the basket. Did you know that most modern chewing gum uses food-grade rubber as the central gum base, which contributes not only the gum's elasticity but an obstinate, sticky quality? Just like that chewing gum, the Rubber Surround in our speakers can take the equivalent amount of abuse without quitting on you. Tweeter – Mylar: For a modern edge, the best car speaker could be the high tech Mylar tweeter, as it generally has more ability for a wider variance of sound modifications and channel handling. Unlike paper cones, the Mylar has a higher rate of durability, as the cone is made of a plastic poly material, which does not rip or tare easily, under abnormal frequency changes.
Boss Marine Loudspeakers are designed to withstand the harsh conditions of
the marine environment. All frame and grill sections are made of a polymer
composite that is completely waterproof with a coating to protect against
damage from UV rays. We use rubber surrounds and polypropylene cones to complete the waterproof package. The tinsel leads are coated to prevent
corrosion. In addition to the material engineering qualities and we are
proud to say these speakers sound awesome.
